Established in 1976 as Split Soccer Club to provide newly arrived Croatian migrants to play football socially. The club fielded a Senior Men’s team and competed in the original Amateur Industrial League during the 1970’s & 1980’s, achieving success with multiple championships and cup wins. Playing out of various venues before relocating to the northern suburbs of Glenroy and adopting the name Glenroy Split Soccer Club, the club was playing out of the old Broadmeadows High School in the 1990's. With the need to establish a home base with improved facilities, the club relocated in 2003 its current site at Strathnaver Reserve, Strathmore, finishing as Champions, promoted to the State Leagues. The club once again undertook a name change to FC Strathmore Split as it has established itself in the Moonee Valley community. The Senior Men’s and Reserves Team currently competes in Football Victoria State League 1 North West.
In addition to the Senior Men’s and Reserves Team, the club fields an over 35’s Master Team, providing mature players a social environment in a structured competition.
